The stone pot rice here is so good! The portion is filling plus they have a complimentary soup that is also delicious. Service is very friendly but a bit slow. Would definitely come back again because the rice was so addictively good. Also best the frog I've had in California hands down.

Clay pot rice is decent, but it's way too oily. I ordered the pork ear and spicy chicken for appetizers, flavor was on point. But after the meal I was super thirsty all night...maybe too much MSG?

Modern Cantonese eatery and Sichuan clay pot rice. So yummy! I had: 1. BBQ pork claypot rice - add egg and abalone. comes with 1 soup and 1 dessert 2. Chicken with ginger paste 3. Spicy dumplings

If you are into or would like to try Chinese clay pot rice, Fennel Bistro is a good place since they have several combinations to choose from. This is a very casual restaurant setup where you order food from a tablet that's already on your table so the night I went, there was only one server for the whole place (and they were not busy). They have combos where's you can get a braised soup along with the clay pot rice as well as some appetizers. Now... I do like clay pot rice but I don't like when the rice cooks too long and then badly sticks to the clay pot to get really crispy so I make sure to scoop the entire clay pot right when it arrives so 'caveat eater' depending on how much you like crispy rice, you'll want to stir the entire clay pot sooner than later. (It's like clay pot rice at Korean Soon Tofu places but here, they will not come by at the end to pour tea or water in the clay pot to help loosen the rice.) Check out my pics including the to go menu. They also have a patio so if you smoke, this place may be a plus for you. A smoke and a clay pot rice...

Finally got to try Fennel Bistro during my lunch work hours and it was very satisfying. The meats were cooked deliciously and the flavors were spot on. The clay rice was crispy and well flavored. The meat to rice ratio was perfect for my preference. The place is simplistic and clean. Random, but it was fun to see the steam rise from the clay pots every so often inside, and it feels like a huge humidifier. No issues at all with the service, our waitress was very kind to explain how to pick out and order the clay pot combos.

A super tasty and reasonably priced clay pot spot!! We came for dinner on a Tuesday night and the place is not busy. Service was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the eel clay pot and chicken clay pot. Clay pot is definitely a specialty here but they also have soup and appetizer on the menu. Each order of clay pot comes with a side of either soup or dessert. We got the dessert which were a fruit medley in coconut milk/passionfruit juice. They were really refreshing and yummy and perfect for a rich and substantial meal of clay pot. We also ordered some appetizers that were vegetables. Everything we ordered was very tasty. Can't wait to come back!

Fennel Bistro has some really delicious Chinese food in the City of Industry. They specialize in authentic clay pot rice dishes where they cook the rice in the clay pot, making the rice at the bottom super crispy the braised beef brisket was super flavorful and tender What really caught me by surprise were the spicy dumplings They were way bigger than I expected and very tasty! The restaurant itself is very clean. You order through a tablet, so there aren't any sticky/nasty menus that you typically see at other restaurants. I came in right before a dinner rush, so I was helped right away. Definitely check them out when you're in the area

Fennel Bistro really suprised me with their food. The restaurant interior design is simple and clean. To me, it's more like a cafe shop. But they serve you very good Sichunese dishes. Their braised intestines noodle ($12.88) was amazing! The portion is not big but it's perfect for me. If you want to add more noodle, it has a option to add. Their intesines was so tender and tasty. So far, it's best Sichuanese Intestines noodle that I had. If you are the person into intestines noodles, must order that. Beef Noodle Soup ($12.88") was great too! Eggplant Salad ($5.99) was delicious! I couldn't find this type of Sichuan style eggplant salad anywhere in So Cal, but found it here. Steam Pork Ribs ($6.99) was good as well, it seems like the combination with Cantonese and Sichuanese style. Suchuan Spicy Jelly ($5.99) was great, it reminds me the spicy jelly that my grandma used to make in Chengdu. All other dishes are great too like Cucumber salad ($2.99), Pototo Floss ($2.99) etc. Braised Pork ($6.99) tastes quite average. I like the backround music in their restaurant. It's very relaxing while enjoying the delicious meal. The price is fair and service is good. I already tried 3 times in 2 weeks, just love their braised intestines noodles so much. :) We will definitely recommend this place to friends.
